About you: As a Workshop Technician, your primary role is to manage the day to day operation of our customer hardware services, from specification through to support and everything in between. Predominantly based in our group workshop in Brackley you will also play a pivotal role in meeting our customers hardware service requirements and working with the necessary vendors to deliver a first class service. In addition, you will also have regular opportunity to engage directly with customers. As the face of AMS you will have regular opportunity to visit customer sites and also support project activities in the wider AMS community as we grow our customer base. Day to day you will: - Process new customer orders for hardware (PC, Laptop, Router, Switch, FW) and ensure that equipment is configured and deployed in line with SLA and quality standards. - Technical resolution of hardware related issues raised directly by the customer through the service desk, or escalated from internal teams. - Implement robust workshop governance to ensure key processes such as goods in, build, distribute and stock control are well managed. - Identify opportunities to enhance the speed, quality and cost of the service for the customer and identify areas for improvement. Your skills and experience might also include; - Being proficient with leading hardware vendors (e.g., HP, Dell, Lenovo) across end-user computing devices, routers, and connectivity equipment. - Having practical knowledge of imaging software, OS deployment, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues. - The ability to work to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with an understanding of their importance in service delivery. - The motivation to stay current with IT developments, hardware updates, and industry best practices to maintain a high level of service and expertise.
