About you: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Global DevOps to lead our DevOps teams across the UK, Vietnam, and Australia. This role is pivotal in building a scalable, cost-efficient, and high-performing global DevOps function to support a diverse range of products. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar leadership role and be adept at driving cultural and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Leadership - Define and execute the global DevOps strategy aligned with business goals. - Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices across all teams and regions. - Implement a "follow-the-sun" operational model to ensure 24/7 coverage and support for all products. 2. Team Management and Development - Lead and mentor geographically distributed teams in the UK, Vietnam, and Australia. - Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture across regions. - Develop clear career paths and training plans for team members. 3. Cost Optimisation - Strategically optimise cloud usage and infrastructure costs across AWS and Azure environments. - Partner with finance and engineering teams to balance operational efficiency with financial accountability. 4. Monitoring and Reliability - Oversee the implementation and enhancement of robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure reliability and uptime of products. - Manage incident response processes to minimise downtime and impact on customers. 5. Automated Deployment and Scalability - Drive the automation of deployment pipelines to accelerate release cycles and improve quality. - Ensure infrastructure scalability to support rapid growth and product demands. 6. Prioritisation and Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with product, engineering, and operational teams to align priorities with business objectives. - Act as the escalation point for critical DevOps-related issues globally. Key Requirements: - Proven experience as a senior DevOps leader in a global, multi-regional organisation. - Extensive expertise in AWS (essential) and familiarity with Azure. - Demonstrable experience in cost optimisation, monitoring, and reliability at scale. - Strong background in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines and automation tools. - Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing distributed teams. - Experience implementing and optimising a "follow-the-sun" operational model. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in supporting a portfolio of varied software products. - Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or similar. - A solid understanding of security best practices within a cloud environment.
