About you: We are seeking an innovative Technical Consultant to join our Professional Services team, with a primary focus on driving technical excellence and exploring AI-powered process improvements for our Access Definitiv payroll platform. This role is designed for someone with foundational technical knowledge who is eager to grow their expertise in AI and emerging technologies while spending approximately 60% of their time on process optimization and innovation initiatives, with the remaining 40% supporting strategic client implementations. The successful candidate will work closely with the business to identify and implement process improvements using AI and automation technologies, learning and developing these skills as a core part of the role. You'll be instrumental in transforming how we deliver payroll solutions by embracing cutting-edge technologies to create scalable, efficient processes.This role will follow ANZ business hours and comes with a shift allowance to support the working arrangement. Day-to-day, you will: Technical Innovation & Process Improvement (60%) • Take ownership of AI and automation initiatives from conception through implementation • Lead technical discovery sessions and champion innovative solutions across the organization • Partner with the business to identify opportunities for process improvements using AI and machine learning • Learn and apply new technologies to create innovative solutions for common implementation challenges • Drive the development of process automation frameworks that can be reused across multiple client implementations • Build your expertise in AI/ML technologies while creating proof-of-concepts and pilot programs • Create technical documentation, best practices guides, and reusable implementation templates • Conduct feasibility studies for AI-driven enhancements to the Definitiv platform • Take initiative in developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and quality assurance processes • Collaborate with product managers to translate field insights into feature requirements and provide technical feasibility assessments • Act as the bridge between Professional Services and Product teams, influencing product direction based on real-world implementation experience Strategic Client Delivery (40%) • Provide technical expertise for high-complexity or strategic client implementations • Serve as technical escalation point for challenging implementation scenarios • Conduct technical workshops and training sessions for key clients • Gather client feedback on technical pain points to inform product and process improvements • Support pre-sales activities with technical demonstrations and solution architecture for enterprise clients Your skills and experiences might also include: • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in payroll systems • Foundational understanding of technical languages and modern technologies • Enthusiasm for embracing and learning AI, machine learning, and automation technologies • Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify opportunities for process improvement • Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements • Experience with system integration and understanding of how different platforms communicate • Strong SQL skills and experience with data migration, ETL processes, and data analytics • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to solve business problems • Proven ability to collaborate with product managers to influence product direction based on technical insights • Excellent problem-solving skills with a curiosity for emerging technologies • Track record of taking ownership of initiatives and driving them to completion independently • Ability to provide technical leadership and influence without formal authority What are we all about?
