About the role:
We are seeking a German Speaking Senior Retention & Renewal Specialist to drive our customer retention and renewal strategies for our German-speaking market. This senior role is critical to maximizing our Gross Revenue Retention (GRR) and ensuring long-term customer success.
As a senior specialist, you will own and lead the retention and renewal strategy for a portfolio of German-speaking customers, working closely with Sales, Customer Success Management, and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. Your fluent German language skills will be essential in building strong relationships with our customers and understanding their unique business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the comprehensive strategy for customer retention and renewal within the German-speaking portfolio, ensuring maximum impact on GRR
- Lead and deliver on NRR (Net Revenue Retention), Churn reduction targets, and the execution of Customer Contract Renewal opportunities
- Develop and implement structured save strategies, campaigns, and treatment plans specifically tailored to the German market
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with German-speaking customers by conducting Renewal & Retention conversations in German to understand their needs, goals, and challenges
- Directly interact with All Tiers on strategic renewals and retention initiatives
- Provide a proactive approach to renewing customers that de-risks future revenues and adds value to the renewal process
- Lead renewal negotiations and prepare proposals in German when required
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate interaction between Sales, Customer Experience, and Customer Success Management teams aligned to specific product renewal strategies
- Engage Sales Account Managers and Customer Success Managers to review upcoming German customer renewals
- Work closely with product development teams to communicate German market feedback and requirements
- Challenge the status quo and highlight key churn reasons to Divisional Management Team
Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Continuously improve retention and renewal playbooks for the German market
- Stay up to date on German and DACH region industry trends and integrate them into retention strategies
- Identify opportunities for process automation and scalability
As a German Speaking Senior Retention & Renewal Specialist your Skills and Experiences likely include:
Essential Requirements:
- Fluent German speaker - this is 100% essential for the role
- Excellent English communication skills
- Proven track record of achieving retention and renewal targets
- Experience working with German or DACH region customers
Technical & Professional Skills:
- Strong background in software renewals and SaaS business models
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or similar CRM systems
- Advanced data analysis skills with ability to derive insights from complex datasets
- Experience with renewal forecasting and pipeline management
