About you:
You are a dynamic individual who can manage their own workload, understands customer communication and delivering a quality service for our user base. Has good inter-personal skills. Is well organised and practical, with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving. Pays careful, close attention to detail. Is skilled in installing one or more items of hardware and software.
Day-to-day, you will:
Install, maintain, and support the ESX infrastructure.
Install, maintain, and patch VMware hypervisors.
Manage and maintain storage across the VMware estate.
Administer and support the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) environment for customers.
Monitor and ensure replication software is operating correctly.
Perform system and software upgrades where applicable.
Manage and resolve assigned service requests and incidents within agreed SLAs.
Operate within an ITIL framework to minimize customer-impacting incidents.
Review workloads to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and self-service improvements.
Participate in the on-call support rota to provide out-of-hours assistance as required.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience managing a large-scale VMware environment.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Active Directory management.
Ability to create and modify scripts for automation and administrative tasks.
Highly self-motivated and committed to delivering exceptional service standards.
Eagerness and ability to learn new technologies and processes within the Access Group support environment.
Skilled at coaching and mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge effectively.
Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
Flexibility to work outside of core hours when required for essential updates or maintenance.
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation to handle critical incidents.
