We’re looking for people to join the Access family, who share our passion for believing in better, and who will help us continue to grow.

Love Work. Love Life. Be You. - is central to our success and how we give our customers the freedom to do more of what's important to them.

We offer a blended approach to office working, encouraging you to collaborate and connect in one of our thriving offices. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career.

On top of a competitive salary, our wellbeing days taking you to 25 days leave a year and a health contribution, you’ll also be able to choose from a range of benefits to suit you. We’re an organisation that likes to give back, so you’ll also have three charity days allocated to support a cause that matters to you.

About the Role

This is a newly created position and the first Group Finance team hire in Kuala Lumpur. While there is an established local finance team in the region, this role will sit within the Group Finance function and represents an exciting step in extending Group Finance capability into KL, with the ambition to grow the team further over time.

The Access Group is on a journey to build a best-in-class group finance function to support rapid growth driven by organic expansion and a significant volume of acquisitions. You will work across multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional reporting and gain direct exposure to complex technical accounting in a PE-backed environment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting where high-quality delivery matters and continuous improvement is expected, so we are looking for someone with a real passion for this.

You will report to the Senior Group Financial Accountant and work closely with the wider Group Finance team based in the UK.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Support the group year-end audit, providing documentation, reconciliations, and responding to audit queries
  • Perform monthly and year-end consolidation processes including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and group adjustments
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and, increasingly, IFRS as the Group transitions reporting standards
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives across group reporting, including system and data quality enhancements
  • Assist with intercompany reconciliation and the preparation of technical accounting memos
  • Maintain group accounting policies and ensure consistent application across new and existing entities
  • Provide technical expertise and clear analysis to influence key stakeholders across the business

About you

You are a qualified accountant with an inquisitive mind and a genuine hunger to develop your technical skills in a complex, fast-moving environment. You are comfortable working autonomously across multiple workstreams and take ownership of your outputs. You are eager to learn, keen to contribute to a high-performing team, and motivated by the opportunity to develop deep expertise in group reporting. You bring a proactive, self-starting attitude - you don't wait to be told what needs improving, you identify it and propose solutions. You can manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines without close supervision.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant - ACCA, ACA, MICPA, CPA Australia, or MIA recognised qualification
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with practical experience applying reporting standards (FRS 102 and/or IFRS preferred)
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-jurisdictional reporting environments, ideally within a group finance or consolidation function
  • Advanced Excel skills with a willingness to develop proficiency in data analytics and consolidation tools
  • Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills — you will work with colleagues globally

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth acquisition environment
  • Exposure to IFRS conversion or first-time adoption projects
  • Familiarity with consolidation systems (e.g. Onestream)
  • Experience supporting external audit processes for large or complex groups

What You'll Gain

This role offers significant professional development in a supportive but stretching environment. You will gain direct exposure to:

  • Complex acquisition accounting across multiple jurisdictions and deal structures
  • Working directly with a Big 4 audit firm on a large-scale group audit
  • Financial consolidation system implementation and process design
  • Being part of a growing Group Finance team with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the function develops
