We offer a blended approach to office working, encouraging you to collaborate and connect in one of our thriving offices. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career.

We’re an organisation that likes to give back, so you’ll also have three charity days allocated to support a cause that matters to you.

The Role:

We're building a world-class revenue accounting function for The Access Group's £1.4bn SaaS business, and we need an exceptional leader to make it happen.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a global revenue accounting model from the ground up - building a 12-person team across UK, Romania, and Malaysia, implementing AI-enabled automation we've developed internally, and establishing the systematic processes and controls that will scale Access from £1.4bn that it is today.

You'll be joining at a transformation point. Your job is to make it proactive, scalable, and operationally excellent. You'll have executive support, approved investment, and cutting-edge technology to do it properly.

What You'll Do:

Revenue Ownership & Technical Leadership:

  • Own revenue accounting for 22 operating entities across multiple divisions
  • Provide final sign-off on consolidated Group revenue before submission to CFO and Group Finance
  • Work with internal teams to implement and continuously improve IFRS 15 revenue recognition processes
  • Maintain revenue recognition policies and update for new products, acquisitions, and business model changes
  • Approve technical accounting treatments for non-standard contracts and complex scenarios
  • Own the AI-enabled revenue recognition platform roadmap and enhancement

Build & Lead a Global Team:

  • Manage multiple people across three geographies including a systems lead & revenue accountants
  • Hire, onboard, and develop talent in Romania & Malysia GOC’s
  • Create clear accountability structure with proper preparer/reviewer segregation
  • Build team capability on IFRS 15 technical knowledge and stakeholder partnership skills

Drive Transformation & Results:

  • Implement 100% revenue coverage with audit-ready controls
  • Reduce month-end close time from 3 days to 2 days through proper team structure and automation
  • Launch weekly business reviews with all 22 SWC Managing Directors (currently none exist)
  • Establish monthly balance sheet reporting packs for all SWC MDs with forward-looking insights

Leverage AI & Automation:

  • Own and enhance our AI-enabled revenue recognition platform (internally)
  • Use automation to shift team focus from manual processing to analysis, controls, and stakeholder partnership
  • Champion self-serve analytics and reporting tools to reduce dependency on Finance for routine queries
  • Drive continuous efficiency improvements through technology and process redesign

Audit & External Relationships:

  • Lead relationship with audit partner on all revenue recognition audit matters
  • Manage year-end audit fieldwork and PBC (Prepared By Client) requests
  • Respond to technical audit queries and achieve zero revenue-related audit findings
  • Coordinate with Technical Accounting on emerging standards and complex judgements

Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Conduct weekly business reviews with SWC MDs and Finance Business Partners across 22 entities
  • Present revenue performance, variance explanations, and commercial insights clearly
  • Partner with Revenue FP&A on forecasting accuracy and board narrative
  • Advise Commercial teams on revenue recognition implications during deal structuring
  • Support PE investor deep-dives on revenue quality and metrics

M&A Integration:

  • Oversee acquisition revenue due diligence and purchase accounting adjustments
  • Integrate new acquisitions into standardized revenue processes within 90 days
  • Establish systematic M&A revenue integration framework (currently ad-hoc)

The Team:

You'll manage a 6-person revenue accounting team across UK and Romania, with plans to expand into Malaysia as the business scales.

Current structure:

  • 2 Team Leads (Romania-based)
  • 2 Accountants (Romania)
  • 1 Senior Accountant (UK)
  • 1 Systems Lead (UK)

Future growth: Expansion into Malaysia team (additional 3-4 people) planned for FY27

What We're Looking For:

Essential Experience:

  • Significant experience in revenue accounting with progressive responsibility
  • Proven experience of team leadership (8-15 people as a guide), ideally across multiple locations
  • Strong IFRS 15 technical knowledge in SaaS, subscription, or software businesses
  • External audit relationship management (Big 4 environment preferred)
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Highly Desirable:

  • PE-backed business experience (understanding investor requirements)
  • M&A integration experience (revenue due diligence and post-acquisition setup)
  • GOC team management (building and leading nearshore/offshore teams)
  • Revenue recognition system implementation or process automation experience
  • Big 4 audit or advisory background

Personal Attributes:

  • Strategic but operational: Can think big picture while ensuring day-to-day excellence
  • Builder mentality: Comfortable creating structure where it doesn't exist
  • Stakeholder-savvy: Presents complex information clearly to executives and non-finance audiences
  • Technology-forward: Embraces automation and AI as enablers, not threats
  • Resilient: Thrives in transformation environments with ambiguity and pace
  • Collaborative leader: Develops others and builds trust across teams and geographies

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Bonus: Company performance scheme
  • Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
