What does Access offer you?
We offer a blended approach to office working, encouraging you to collaborate and connect in one of our thriving offices. We deliver on what we say, taking the development of our people seriously. We’ll work with you to progress your success plan and provide opportunities to accelerate your career.
On top of a competitive salary, our wellbeing days taking you to 25 days leave a year and a health contribution, you’ll also be able to choose from a range of benefits to suit you. We’re an organisation that likes to give back, so you’ll also have three charity days allocated to support a cause that matters to you.
About you:
You are an experienced project manager with a strong grounding in payroll workflows and SaaS implementation delivery. You thrive in a client-facing environment and know how to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects without losing sight of what matters most — a smooth, high-quality go-live for your customers. You bring clarity to complex engagements, keep stakeholders aligned, and know how to navigate the intricacies of payroll compliance to guide both your team and your clients towards successful outcomes.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Manage the full project lifecycle for payroll and workforce management software implementations, from initiation and scoping through to go-live and post-implementation review
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans including scope, resource allocation, risk registers, dependency tracking, and milestone management
- Coordinate and lead project team activities across implementation consultants, technical resources, and client stakeholders, ensuring clear accountability and timely delivery
- Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops and discovery sessions to understand client payroll workflows, business rules, and compliance obligations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project, proactively managing expectations, communicating project status, and resolving risks and issues promptly
- Conduct regular governance meetings, presenting progress reports, RAID logs, and recommendations to client and internal stakeholders
- Manage scope change requests, ensuring all variations are assessed, documented, approved, and reflected in revised project plans and commercial agreements
- Oversee UAT planning and execution, coordinating test scripts, defect resolution, and client sign-off processes with the implementation team
- Monitor project financials including forecasted vs actual hours, budget utilization, and risks to revenue recognition
Skills and Experience:
- Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals, workflows, and compliance requirements — with the ability to translate these into sound project decisions
- Proven project management experience in a SaaS or software implementation environment; PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification advantageous
- Strong stakeholder management skills — confident engaging with executive sponsors, operational teams, and third-party vendors
- A passion for delivering an excellent customer experience and a genuine commitment to quality outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify risks early and drive timely resolution.
- A drive to continually improve delivery processes and contribute to a high-performing Professional Services team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize competing demands, and keep all workstreams on track simultaneously.
- The ability to quickly learn new SaaS platforms and technologies, and to develop deep product knowledge to support delivery excellence.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong communication skills in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
- A high level of personal drive, accountability, and self-motivation; resilient under pressure and committed to delivering results.
