Position Summary:
Reporting to the Cloud Engineering Operating Systems Operations Manager, you play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and evolving the Citrix and virtual desktop services delivered to internal and external customers globally from the 24x7 Global Operations Centre. You will work both autonomously and collaboratively with global engineering, network, security, and application teams to deliver to our internal and external customers around the globe as part of our 24X7 Global Operations Centre based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Senior Citrix Engineer is responsible for ensuring Citrix services remain highly available, secure, cost-effective, and performant in line with architectural design and SLAs. This role is required to administer, support, maintain our global hosting platform working autonomously and collaboratively with our local and global team members.
You will need to apply your deep hands-on expertise across Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), NetScaler/ADC, Windows Server, RDS, virtualisation, and supporting infrastructure to ensure best practice configuration, performance and security is maintained. You will need to be able to work under pressure and the ability to remain calm during customer impacting incidents to quickly restore service or determine effective work arounds.
This role is ideal for a senior Citrix engineer who brings extensive technical expertise, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Success in this position requires strong service ownership, disciplined SLA‑driven execution, and a customer‑first mindset, combined with the ability to operate effectively within a culturally diverse, global support model.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Own and support the server, RDS, and Citrix estate, ensuring optimal performance and availability
- Install, configure, and provide advanced support for Citrix and RDS platforms
- Manage SSL certificates, upgrades, and platform patching activities
- Partner with application teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
- Ensure effective monitoring and alerting across supported platforms
- Resolve incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs
- Drive service stability, efficiency, and automation through continuous improvement initiatives
Skills, knowledge, experience & qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior / Level 3 Citrix Engineer supporting enterprise environments
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) and RDS
- Solid experience administering Citrix ADC / NetScaler, including Gateway services, SSL, load balancing, and high availability
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across Citrix, Windows Server, and VDI performance issues
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Citrix infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Experience with user profile and user environment technologies (FSLogix, Citrix UPM, Windows Roaming Profile)
- Good understanding of supporting infrastructure services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and authentication
- Experience restoring virtual machines and databases using enterprise backup solutions
- Comfortable working in a 24x7, SLA‑driven operations environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across global and culturally diverse teams
- Familiarity with VMware virtualisation platforms
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management best practices
NOTE: This is a 15-day month shift rotation role. You will be required to work on a rotation shift from the office 8am/8pm and 8pm/8am on a rotating basis with the flexibility to work from home as needed.
