Site Reliability Engineer, Lead (m/f/d)

  • Pune (IND)
Want to work in a culture built on mutual trust and respect? How about having the freedom to make work fit into your life (and not the other way round)? A career with Thinkproject could be just the opportunity you're looking for.

What do we do?
Thinkproject is a European market-leader in digitalisation tools for construction companies. It sounds complex, but we'll explain further! Construction companies used to use manual administration and physical paperwork for projects (sometimes hundreds of thousands of bits of paperwork for one project!). Using our construction intelligence solutions, businesses can go digital, which benefits everyone from the construction companies to the wider public.
Our mission is to deliver digitalisation to make a safer, healthier and more sustainable AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations) industry. This is a really exciting time to join our company, since our founding in 2000 we have gone from strength-to-strength and have lots of exciting developments coming up soon that you could be a part of.

As the Site Reliability Engineer, Lead (m/f/d), you will take on a leadership role, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based software solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead initiatives to design, implement, and maintain highly available systems, ensuring seamless operations and an exceptional user experience.

What your day will look like

  • Lead a Site Reliability Engineer in designing, implementing, and managing robust and scalable solutions for our cloud-based software platforms.
  • Define and implement best practices and standards for reliability, performance, and scalability across our systems and infrastructure.
  • Drive automation initiatives for deployment, configuration management, and monitoring, leveraging infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools.
  • Establish and maintain processes for incident management, including on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident analysis to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and architecture teams to optimize system architecture and infrastructure for scalability and performance.
  • Conduct regular system audits, performance analysis, and capacity planning to proactively address potential issues and accommodate growth.
  • Champion security practices and compliance requirements, ensuring the protection of our systems and sensitive data.
  • Evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance system reliability, performance, and efficiency.

What you need to fulfill the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
  • Significant experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role within a cloud-based environment, with proven leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, coupled with advanced knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Deep understanding of networking, databases, and web services, along with experience in implementing monitoring and logging solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation.
