What your day will look like

Mission

The Finance PMO Manager plays a key role in driving the governance, visibility, and effectiveness of financial project delivery across the organisation. This role ensures that financial planning, reporting, and project performance management are robust, consistent, and aligned with strategic objectives. The postholder will partner closely with Finance Leadership team, Project Leads, and other senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • PMO Governance & Standards: Maintain and enhance PMO frameworks, tools, and reporting standards to ensure consistent delivery across all finance-related projects.
  • Financial Oversight: Lead project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Portfolio Reporting: Produce clear, timely dashboards and reports that highlight progress, financial performance, risks, and dependencies for senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Facilitate communication between Finance, PMO, IT, and other teams, ensuring alignment and clarity of expectations.
  • Governance Meetings: Prepare materials for steering committees and leadership reviews, presenting insights and recommending actions where needed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial project processes, drive standardisation, and implement best practices.
  • Resource & Capacity Planning: Support analysis of resource demand, utilisation, and financial impact across the project portfolio.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure projects adhere to governance, audit, and
    compliance requirements, and maintain robust documentation.

What you need to fulfill the role

Experience (technical / leadership)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in PMO, Finance PMO, or project management roles
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Proficient in project management tools and data visualisation
• Relevant degree; certifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP are an advantage

Functional expertise or method expertise

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise, and well-structured manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly organised, with strong planning, prioritisation, and documentation abilities; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder-management capability, with confidence in engaging senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
