Manufacturing Specialist

Location: Loves Park, Illinois

Your mission in the Dart team:

The Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for supporting production operations through continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, real-time troubleshooting, and documentation management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and successful implementation of engineering changes on the shop floor. The specialist will also serve as a key link between engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Your day-to-day:

  • Provide hands-on support to production lines for immediate issue resolution and process stabilization.

  • Collaborate with engineers to implement and document Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

  • Create and maintain accurate work instructions, assembly procedures, and visual aids.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for production-related nonconformances.

  • Support the setup and validation of new fixtures, tooling, and test stations.

  • Monitor production metrics and identify areas for process improvement.

  • Coordinate and document First Article Inspections (FAIs) and process validations.

  • Assist in preparation and execution of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.

  • Ensure that documentation is up to date and aligned with system of record (Arena Empower).

Your profile:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing support or production engineering environment.

  • Experience with electromechanical assembly.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and basic quality tools (5 Whys, fishbone, Pareto).

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and document control systems.

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
