Director of Platform

TouchTunes is looking for an experienced infrastructure and software development Director to oversee the Site Reliability Engineering and Backend development who will be taking on an array of projects within our SRE team and backend team. The candidate’s main mission is to take our jukebox production infrastructure to the next level while ensuring the consistent high quality of operations and reliability of the backend platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring a mindset of innovation, technical oriented strategic planning and turn ideas into world-class service operations infrastructure. Supported by the Directors of Mobile and Jukebox as well as the VP Platform Services and Operations, you will help define and prioritize new features aimed and improving reliability or supporting service development aimed at support cross product features, then work with a wide range of teams to bring them out successfully to the world.

You will work collaboratively across multidepartment teams within the organization to understand business needs and market opportunity, translating these into feature enhancements, performance enhancements or new products. You will also monitor, analyze, and report on platform development initiatives and backend performance and reliability KPIs.

What your day-to-day looks like:

• Deployment and operations of production infrastructure, their upkeep, evolution, and cost control
• Development, evolution, and operation of platform as a service software
• Development, evolution, and operation of content ingestion systems
• Development and evolution of build and deployment engineering services
• Development and evolution of monitoring and alerting systems, services and tooling.
• The cost and budget of doing the above
• Lead several teams responsible for cloud infrastructure for both the enterprise and product delivery
• Manage and prioritize new projects, ongoing support, and technical debt
• Partner with the security and development teams to drive improvements across all areas
• Identify, measure maintain, and report appropriate metrics across products to internal and external partners
  

What you bring to the table:

• 15 years of experience in information technology
• Bachelor’s degree Information Technology/Computer Science or related field
• Experience of working in a leadership role for at least 5 years leading large teams.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills across the full stack for backend APIs.
• Experience on data structures, relational and NOSQL databases, web architectures. Exposure to UNIX flavors.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent relational and non-relational databases and Linux Unix systems Experience
• Experience and expert knowledge of distributed architectures
• Eager to constantly strive to groom and train up your team with the aim of continuously improving team cohesion and effectiveness.
• Experience putting in place a career evolution strategy, for your team, which ties into scalable team structure.
• Good at maintaining a high level of morale within and around the team. Not having some fun is not an option
