Job Purpose

Tungsten Automation is seeking a Mgr, Accounting to help lead the company's EMEA accounting function from our Sofia, Bulgaria hub. This role will be responsible for accounting and reporting across multiple entities spanning various countries in EMEA. This includes responsibility for core accounting operations, statutory audit process, monthly close, payment review, and other tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

· Manage a team of accounting professionals responsible for the general ledger accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities in EMEA.

· Help lead internal adoption of AI tools such as Claude and Tungsten Automation software to improve productivity across the team.

· Set clear priorities, workload allocation, and service levels for the team, and provide coaching, feedback, and development planning for each team member.

· Build bench strength and cross-training within the team so that coverage is maintained through peak periods, month-end, and absences.

Statutory Audit & Compliance

· Handle accounting and financial reporting across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, coordinating with local statutory auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.

· Ensure statutory financial statements are prepared and filed accurately and on time in accordance with local GAAP/IFRS requirements in each jurisdiction.

· Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting across the EMEA accounting function.

· Assist with the US Group audit, including coordination with the corporate team and external auditors on US GAAP reporting requirements.

Close, GL, and AP Operations

· Oversee the monthly close process for multiple EMEA entities, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial results.

· Manage the General Ledger accounting function, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet reviews.

Planning & Cross-Functional Partnership

· Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and corporate accounting on reporting, compliance, and other departments as need on matters affecting the region.

· Support systems and ERP-related initiatives (e.g., NetSuite) that improve the accuracy and efficiency of EMEA accounting operations.

· Support ad hoc projects such as process transitions, entity restructurings, or M&A integration accounting as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degree a plus.

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a multi-country or shared-services EMEA environment.

· Bulgarian Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (ICPA Bulgaria / ИДЕС), ACCA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification a plus.

· Strong working knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and local GAAP/IFRS across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.

· Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience supporting a US-based group audit is a plus.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across cultures and time zones; additional European languages a strong plus.

· Experience with ERP and financial systems (NetSuite preferred) and strong Excel skills.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.

· High degree of integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.
