Challenging Goldfields Open Pit opportunity
Hampton Mining and Civil are now looking for an enthusiastic experienced Project Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will join us with Project Management production experience developed from a strong background in Open Pit mining and bulk haulage, coupled with a solid understanding and ability to deliver a project successfully, safely, on time and within budget are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective management and administration of the project in order to achieve the desired production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
- Forecast medium – long term project development and evaluate progress against set objectives.
- Working in conjunction with Hampton Transport Services and client management on site, determine the requirements for plant, equipment and labour to ensure efficient utilisation.
- The establishment of training initiatives to provide the skills required to meet the project’s needs.
- Monitor overall performance to ensure targets are met and take appropriate action to maintain targets.
- Provide accurate, timely & effective progress reports to the Client and internally to Hampton Transport Services management.
- Administer the contract and sub-contract in relation to extensions of time, costs, variations, progress of claims, invoicing and monthly reporting.
- Ensure progress claims in respect to full recovery of all chargeable work.
- Provide coaching / mentorship and feedback for subordinates.
- Positive working relationships are established with the client, personnel and stakeholders such as sub-contractors, local business groups and community organisations.
- Strive to establish a culture encompassing the vision and core values of Hampton Transport Services.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years Project Management experience in open pit mining and/or bulk haulage operations.
- 5-10 years’ experience operating in mining production environment.
- Thorough understanding of Mining Regulations Act.
- Experience in machinery operations in open-pit production mining.
- Restricted/Quarry Managers certificate of competency.
- People management skills
- Sound knowledge of safe mining and earthmoving practices.
