Barangaroo, New South Wales 2000, Australia • Full-time

Description

At Human & Co, we believe that everyone deserves safety and a future they choose for themselves. Our frontline teams make that possible every day. And behind every strong Shared Support team and structure that keeps everything running. That’s where you come in.

As our Finance & Administration Officer, you’ll play a critical role, keeping our finances accurate, our HR administration running smoothly, and our business operations well-organised during a pivotal period for our organisation.

This is a 6-month max term contract with an immediate start, genuine hybrid work, structured around approximately 60% Finance, 30% HR Administration, and 10% Business Administration. Minimum 1-day in office is based in Barangaroo, Sydney CBD.

If you are looking to build your finance and administration skills while making genuine social impact, this is the opportunity.

Your work will span three key areas:

Finance (60%):

  • Manage accounts payable end-to-end: approvals, invoice uploads into Xero, cost centre allocation, and post-payment reconciliation.
  • Reconcile transactions in Xero.
  • Assist with preparation and upload of payment batches to CommBiz Portal.

Month-end tasks

  • Support our Financial Accountant with month-end journals, credit card reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Year-end audit

Human Resources Administration (30%)

Assist our Human Resources Lead with:

  • Maintaining accurate, compliant people records in Employment Hero, our HRIS.
  • Preparing employment contracts and variation letters using approved templates.
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding of employees and related documentation.
  • Communicating payroll changes to our provider within agreed cut-off timelines.

Business Administration (10%)

  • Monitor and maintain our Administration Requests, ensuring requests are appropriately triaged, actioned and responding in a timely manner.
  • Keep our city office running smoothly, well maintained and stocked.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or Diploma in Accounting (essential)

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven administration and time management skills, including preparing and issuing employment contracts.
  • Experience working with an HRIS, with Employment Hero highly regarded

  • Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.

Mandatory Licenses:

  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • National Police Check (conducted in final part of recruitment process).

As we are an organisation that supports and services women and children, to be female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
