The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead growth across our Truss & Framing business at Big River Breakwater, with additional responsibility for supporting our Trade and Cladding categories.
This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional with strong knowledge of residential construction, timber systems, and builder engagement to make a meaningful impact in a growing market.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, growing existing accounts, and strengthening relationships with builders, developers, and other key stakeholders. With a strong focus on Truss & Framing, you will also contribute to the ongoing development of our Trade and Cladding categories, helping to expand Big River Breakwater’s presence and reputation across the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Identify, target and secure new business within residential and multi-residential construction.
- Build strong relationships with builders, developers and key market stakeholders.
- Promote BRG’s Frame & Truss capabilities, prefabrication solutions and trade products.
- Work closely with estimating, design, production and logistics to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, tenders and product presentations.
- Manage contract negotiations and resolve customer enquiries.
- Achieve sales targets through structured planning, territory management and pipeline development.
- Maintain CRM records, reporting and forecasting activities.
About You
You will bring:
- Proven experience in sales or account management within Frame & Truss, timber supply, prefabrication or residential construction.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to identify new opportunities and convert them into profitable revenue.
- Solid understanding of residential construction practices and job-site requirements.
- High attention to detail, strong time-management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Experience with CRM and sales systems (desirable).
