OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
To be successful in this position, the following attributes are essential:
- Extensive experience in civil design – at least ten years is ideal
- Chartered or Registered Professional Engineer, able to certify Civil Engineering designs
- Consultancy or local government experience on Land Development, Roads, Drainage, Sewer and Water projects (within Australia)
- Experience and knowledge of Austroads and VicRoads design guidelines, AS3500, AS2890, AS1428, Stormwater Best Practice (WSUD) and the Infrastructure Design Manual (IDM)
- Strong experience in preparation of design, specifications, reports, calculations, drawings, cost estimation and project details/schedules, with high attention to detail and technical quality assurance
- Strong experience with civil design tools such as 12D and/or Civil 3D, AutoTurn and/or Autodesk Vehicle Tracking
- Excellent presentation and engineering report writing skills
- Strong experience in undertaking civil field inspections, witnessing testing and hold points
- Ability to work independently and as part of a broader national team, with strong self-management and the ability to motivate others
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with external stakeholders, internal engineering teams and other trades
- A proactive, common-sense approach to solving technical and relationship challenges, with a drive to contribute ideas and improve engineering services, processes and systems
The following skills attributes will be highly regarded:
- WSAA Accreditation, with the ability to design and certify water and sewerage assets
- Defence project experience
- MIE(Aust), NER, CPEng or similar professional qualifications, including RPE(Vic) and/or RPEQ registration
- Experience with AutoCAD, 12D and/or Civil3D
- Ability to be mobile and undertake short term work in remote and regional locations
- Experience with water quality management and/or flood modelling
