Description
The Case Support Worker provides trauma‑informed, culturally inclusive, non‑judgmental emotional and practical support to women*, children and young people who have experienced family violence and homelessness.
Most support is delivered while women and families are residing at Good Samaritan Inn’s crisis accommodation (refuge). The role includes intake and welcoming, risk assessment and safety planning, ongoing support, and liaison with external services, while maintaining a safe, welcoming and client‑centered environment.
Case Support Workers also respond to crisis situations, de‑escalate behaviours, and lead play‑based and creative activities with children and young people. The role includes shared responsibility for practical household duties such as cleaning, cooking and room preparation.
This position involves rostered shifts, including:
Weekdays: overnight sleep‑over shifts
Weekends: day shifts and/or overnight sleep‑overs
The role may be performed both independently and within a team, with on‑call support available when working solo.
*GSI extends services to all women (trans and cisgender), non‑binary and gender diverse people, and children and young people.
