This role is 1-2 days per week, negotiable with the successful candidate with an hourly rate of $36.67 per hour, equating to $72,460 annually (pro rata) plus superannuation and access to Salary Packaging.
The Position
The Social Media Officer is responsible for the content creation, execution and coordination of social media activity across HousingFirst owned channels.
Working within the Marketing and Communications Team, and enabling the Social Media Strategy, this role supports the delivery of the annual content schedule and community engagement.
The role focuses on implementing content, scheduling posts, monitoring activity, coordinating approvals, and maintaining day-to-day platform activity. It works closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to raise HousingFirsts profile through consistent and timely delivery of activity.
Responsibilities
– Plan, develop and maintain an ongoing social media content calendar to support the organisation’s social media strategy and ensure consistent, timely delivery of content across all platforms.
– Create, coordinate and publish social media content, including video and animated materials, in line with approved messaging, brand guidelines and platform requirements.
– Implement approved strategies to support audience growth and engagement across existing and emerging social media platforms and communities.
– Undertake day‑to‑day social media monitoring, moderation and community management, including responding to enquiries, comments and complaints in accordance with policy and escalation procedures.
– Monitor social media performance and prepare regular reports against agreed key performance indicators to inform continuous improvement.
– Attend internal and external events, primarily within Melbourne, to capture and coordinate social media content, with flexibility to attend events outside standard working days where required.
– Maintain contemporary knowledge of social media platforms, trends and best practice to support effective delivery of responsibilities
– Contribute to a positive workplace culture consistent with the values and objectives of the organisation
As our ideal candidate you will have:
– Desire to be part of a values driven and community focussed organisation
– A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
– Demonstrated experience in social media content planning and delivery, ideally in the not-for-profit space covering social issues
– Strong technical knowledge in content creation, including video and animation
– Experience supporting audience growth and engagement
– Community management, judgement and issue handling experience
– Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
– Sound professional judgement and ability to work with moderate supervision
