Summary:
The Technical Officer (AGO) plays a crucial role in supporting the Defence and Military sector in Canberra, ensuring the effective implementation and management of technical projects. This position is vital for maintaining operational readiness and enhancing the capabilities of the organisation through innovative solutions and expert technical guidance.
Requirement for a TSPV cleared Technical Officer that is qualified and experienced Gallagher Electronic Access Control System (EACS), Type 1 or Type 1A technical resource, to support technical security systems, project delivery, and train and support staff using these systems, across DFAT’s domestic sites.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and expertise in the development and implementation of defence projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines.
- Conduct thorough analyses and evaluations of technical systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to stakeholders and senior management.
- Assist in the management of project budgets and resources to ensure efficient utilisation.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in defence technology and recommend appropriate applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role within the defence or military sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with defence systems and technologies is highly desirable.
