An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Investment Analyst to join our team in the Sydney, CBD office.

This role is based in Sydney and involves regular travel, both domestic and international.

The Team – Infinity Capital Solutions

Infinity Capital Solutions (ICS) is the solutions arm of VFGL and is committed to designing, building, and delivering institutional-grade investment solutions and digital tools that help our clients achieve their desired outcomes. It is made up of Infinity Portfolio Management (IPM), Infinity Asset Management (IAM) and Infinity Digital.

This role will be working within the IAM team.

About the Role

We are seeking an Investment Analyst to support the research, selection, and ongoing monitoring of unlisted investments (managed funds, private assets, co-investments) used within Infinity’s suite ofdiversified investment strategies. The role focuses primarily on active manager research and due diligence across all asset classes, with secondary responsibilities for contributing to Infinity’s published research and communications and supporting Portfolio Managers’ investment decision-making with actionable insights, analysis, and clear written research. This role is suited to a candidate with 1-3 years of experience in manager research, funds management, consulting, or institutional/wealth investment teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managed fund research & due diligence - Conduct structured qualitative and quantitative research on managed funds across all asset classes.
  • Participate in Manager meetings.
  • Ongoing manager monitoring & watchlist management.
  • Portfolio & SMA support - Prepare clear, defensible written research notes and investment analysis to support Portfolio Manager’s with actionable investment insights. Present to the Investment Committee with key relevant research.
  • Maintain coverage across Infinity’s investment universe, including research databases and dashboards.
  • Contribute to Infinity’s advisor support and investment insights content, including writing research summaries for our clients, answering queries, and supporting Infinity’s published content.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Required:

  • 1-3 years of experience in investment research, manager research, funds management, platform research, consulting, wealth or institutional investment teams. Relevant experience in adjacent industries will also be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with financial markets and investing.
  • Strong quantitative capability, preferably with experience of performance analysis, risk metrics, and performance attribution techniques.
  • Strong qualitative judgement: ability to assess philosophy/process/team, identify “edge”, and recognise red flags.
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise investment papers and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • CFA designation or progress towards designation
  • Familiarity with common research tools and datasets (e.g., Bloomberg or similar).
