We are looking for a people-focused Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and grow one or more of our key development teams within the EW Toll product domain. In this role, your focus will be to enable your team to perform at its best.
You will form a leadership duo with the Product Owner, creating a partnership that balances technical execution with product vision. Your primary mission is to build a well-organized, highly efficient team by focusing on process improvement, individual development, and fostering a culture of collaboration and ownership.
  • Proven experience in an engineering leadership role (Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or similar).
  • A genuine passion for people management, team development, and fostering a positive and effective team culture.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and a track record of improving team processes and delivery.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with Product Managers/Owners to lead a team.
  • A solid technical background in software development. While you won't be expected to contribute as a coder, you must be able to understand technical challenges, contribute to architectural discussions, and maintain credibility with experienced developers.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance team health, technical debt, and feature delivery.
  • Directly manage one or multiple engineering teams, hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers to ensure structured career growth and professional development.

  • Foster a high-trust, collaborative culture that encourages innovation and psychological safety, empowering teams to take ownership of solutions and decision-making.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the product and business domain to influence software development and architectural decisions.

  • Act as a strategic partner for Product Managers and Product Owners, sharing responsibility for product outcomes.

  • Actively collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders during the discovery phase to assess feasibility, technical risks, and potential solutions.

  • Provide engineering insights, feasibility discussions, and high-level estimates during product ideation and discovery phases.

  • Ensure technical consistency and best practices through cross-team architectural alignment, balancing speed with long-term system maintainability.

  • Drive agile delivery, ensuring teams refine processes and workflows to operate efficiently.

  • Follow and drive team-level OKRs (Objectives & Key Results), fostering a product-led mindset.

  • Keep customer value at the center of engineering decisions, ensuring solutions align with business impact.

  • Work closely with the Product Manager to balance technical debt and feature delivery, ensuring long-term product sustainability.

  • Promote observability best practices, ensuring monitoring, logging, and alerting are integrated into development workflows to maintain system reliability and performance.
