Here at Eurowag, we are looking for a Head of Legal. The Head of Legal will be the senior legal leader of the EW Group, playing a key role in shaping how we grow responsibly and sustainably. This role will provide pragmatic, business‑focused legal advice and ensure strong legal and regulatory compliance across the organization, while helping the business move forward with confidence.
The future Head of Legal will protect the company’s interests by anticipating and managing legal risks, supporting strategic initiatives, and embedding clear, effective governance and decision‑making practices. They will lead and further develop the legal function (both the internal team and external counsels), set clear standards and templates, and ensure high‑quality, efficient legal support for all business units.
Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across Eurowag, the Head of Legal will be a trusted partner to the business — enabling growth while consistently upholding high standards of compliance, integrity, and ethical behavior.
• Legal strategy & framework: set and continuously evolve the company’s legal framework and legal operating model, defining both long-term direction and short-term priorities in alignment with business strategy; translate strategy into a practical roadmap (policies, governance, templates, processes, and resourcing) and monitor delivery and effectiveness.The future Head of Legal will protect the company’s interests by anticipating and managing legal risks, supporting strategic initiatives, and embedding clear, effective governance and decision‑making practices. • Business partnering: ensure of providing timely and practical legal advice to internal customer such as commercial, finance, product, procurement, HR and operations teams.
• Legal risk management: identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks; maintain and improve policies, templates, playbooks, and controls.
• Team leadership: lead, mentor and develop the legal team across the group; allocate work, set priorities, and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Budget & vendor management: own the external counsel budget, manage legal vendors, and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
• Regulatory compliance support: advise on applicable laws and regulations, support compliance programs, and coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and audits.
• Corporate governance & housekeeping: oversee corporate documentation, delegations/authorities, and entity management in cooperation with internal stakeholders.
• Dispute & claims management: manage pre-litigation and litigation strategy, oversee external counsel, and drive efficient resolution of disputes.
• Contracting: draft, review and negotiate complex agreements (e.g., customer/supplier contracts, partnership agreements, , IT/technology and outsourcing contracts).
Required / Desired qualifications
- Education: Law degree (Master’s level or equivalent); bar admission/attorney qualification is an advantage (as applicable).
- Experience: 8+ years post-qualification legal experience, including substantial in-house and multi-jurisdiction experience; proven ability to advise and report to senior stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
- Leadership: 5+ years people-management experience with ability to develop talent and drive performance. Experience with leading larger (5+) teams.
- Core skills: leading legal operations experience, strong contract drafting/negotiation skills, sound judgement, excellent communication, and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
- Regulatory/compliance knowledge: familiarity with corporate governance, commercial law, dispute management, and relevant regulatory frameworks; experience in a regulated environment is preferred.
- Language: English at advanced/professional proficiency and strong presentation and drafting skills.
- PLC / industry experience: Experience with publicly listed company requirements and with technology / energy / SaaS industry is preferred.
