- Proven experience in an engineering leadership role (Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or similar).
- A genuine passion for people management, team development, and fostering a positive and effective team culture.
- Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and a track record of improving team processes and delivery.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with Product Managers/Owners to lead a team.
- A solid technical background in software development. While you won't be expected to contribute as a coder, you must be able to understand technical challenges, contribute to architectural discussions, and maintain credibility with experienced developers.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance team health, technical debt, and feature delivery.
- Lead one or more engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Support structured career growth and continuous development of engineers.
- Build a high-trust, collaborative environment with strong psychological safety.
- Encourage ownership, autonomy, and accountability within teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Eurowag Office Core domain and its impact on the business.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Product Manager, sharing responsibility for product outcomes.
- Collaborate closely during discovery phases to assess feasibility, risks, and solution approaches.
- Provide engineering insights, high-level estimates, and trade-off discussions during ideation.
- Ensure engineering decisions are driven by customer value and business impact.
- Drive efficient and predictable delivery using agile principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure teams follow modern development practices (CI/CD, automated testing, trunk-based development where applicable).
- Balance feature delivery with technical debt management to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Align team execution with OKRs and promote a product-led mindset.
- Contribute to architectural alignment across teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Guide teams in making sound technical decisions while balancing short-term delivery and long-term health.
- Promote best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), clear service boundaries, and contract-based integrations.
- Ensure strong ownership of services, including reliability and operational support.
- Promote observability best practices (monitoring, logging, alerting) as part of development workflows.
- Support implementation of SLOs and data-driven reliability improvements.
- Foster accountability for production quality and system performance.
- Own hiring, team composition, and resource allocation.
- Drive and enforce engineering standards and best practices across teams.
- Influence and co-own architectural decisions to ensure cross-team consistency.
- Pause development when alignment, quality, or data requirements are not met.
- Pause production releases when quality, compliance, or reliability standards are at risk.
- Reports to the Director of Engineering.
- Partners closely with the Product Manager and key stakeholders across the organization.
- Directly impacts team performance, engagement, and delivery outcomes.
- Strengthens the Engineering–Product partnership to ensure shared ownership of results.
- Drives data-informed engineering excellence through metrics, feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
