Our Salem, OR is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate to support their Advisor Team in delivering top-quality tax compliance and advisory services to Individual and Business clients within a high-net-worth team at Wealth Enhancement Group (WEG). The Tax Associate works directly with advisory team members, clients, and internal teams to ensure accurate tax compliance. The goal in making this hire is to train an individual to take a leadership and ownership role in the tax business. (This role is a Seasonal role for January – April 2026, it does have opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule.)
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly pay range for this seasonal position (January through April) is $33.00 to $46.00 per hour. We encourage you to apply and share your compensation expectations with us during the process.
Primary Job Functions
Tax Preparation & Planning
Prepare and review proforma and finalized tax returns under the guidance of experienced tax professionals. Client types may include individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, S & C corporations.
Assist in the preparation of amended tax returns.
Support the review and response process for tax notices.
Contribute to the development of tax projections.
Assist in tax planning projects by analyzing financial data and identifying opportunities to reduce tax liabilities and enhance tax efficiency.
Collaborate with WEG Financial Advisors and clients to gather necessary tax information.
Support the WETCS quality assurance process to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Tax Research and Analysis
Conduct research on tax issues relevant to specific client scenarios.
Assist in interpreting and applying tax laws and regulations.
Stay informed on updates and changes in tax legislation and regulatory guidance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax compliance requirements and best practices.
Team Collaboration
Participate in organizational improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with team members to enhance effectiveness, productivity, and team satisfaction.
Share knowledge and provide support to peers as appropriate.
Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging team culture.
Education/Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax accounting, or a degree with a concentration in tax accounting or taxation
Active Oregon Licensed Tax Preparer (LTP) credential issued by the Oregon Board of Tax Practitioners.
Foundational understanding of federal and state tax laws and compliance
Strong financial and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and professional tax software (preferably Drake)
Detail-oriented, collaborative, and solution-focused
Strong desire to grow into an outstanding tax professional
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state, pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as the Career level is $67,500.00 to $97,600.00. However, the base salary range bolded above is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
