We have a unique opportunity in our Malvern, PA office for a Tax Preparation & Planning Analyst who can assist with preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting client relationships, and helping with planning throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with clients, and eager to be part of a collaborative financial planning team.

Role Structure

  • Ability to work up to full-time during tax planning season (compensation during tax season is determined based on the number of returns prepared or reviewed)

  • If desired, opportunity to stay on for additional planning support throughout the rest of the year is available on a part-time, hourly basis

  • Hybrid schedule: must be able to be on-site at Malvern, PA office once weekly during peak tax season to connect with the team and support collaborative work. Outside of that, you will have flexibility to work remotely or in-office as you prefer.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation and Planning

  • Prepare and review individual 1040 and estate/trust 1041 tax returns, including high-net-worth families

  • Communicate with clients to gather and organize tax documents

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of returns and related paperwork

  • Analyze financial data and documents to ensure accurate tax reporting

  • Conduct tax research and stay updated on federal, state, and local tax laws

  • Develop and assist with tax planning strategies that integrate with overall financial planning, if needed

Foster Teamwork

  • Maintain relationships with wealth management teams and their shared clients

  • Act as subject matter expert to internal support teams

  • Be prepared to join meetings ‘ad hoc’ to support tax work for wealth management teams

Qualifications/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • Experience in tax return preparation services

  • Experience using ProSeries Professional and/or CCH Access Software is preferred, but not required

  • Familiarity with SmartVault for client tax document storage is preferred but not required

  • Working knowledge of Schedule C reporting, 1099 brokerage statements, and K-1s

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations

  • CPA or EA a plus, but not required
