Our Corporate Office is seeking a Business Process Optimization Intern to join our team. This internship provides an exceptional opportunity for students to gain hands‑on experience in process mapping, analytics, dashboard building, auditing, and supporting business optics management. The intern will work closely with the BPO team to contribute to the development of a new SharePoint knowledge repository while supporting process improvement initiatives and operational analysis. Key takeaways from this role include strengthening analytical and problem‑solving skills, gaining exposure to tools such as Power BI and Visio, and building foundational experience in operations management and process optimization. This is a fully remote internship opportunity
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly rate for this position is $21 per hour.
Primary Job Functions
Support the BusinessOptix platform and Process Optimization Activities
- Assist with process mapping activities using the Team’s BusinessOptix technology platform
- Assist with the structure, documentation, and testing of the Process Governance program, including reviewing standards, controls, and supporting materials.
- Contribute to analytical and operational support activities, such as dashboard support, audits, and basic process or data reviews.
- Serve as a backup support resource for the broader BPO team as needed
Contribute to Knowledge Management Projects
- Assist in building a new SharePoint knowledge repository for the newly formed knowledge management department
- Provide technical and analytical support to ensure accurate, organized, and scalable knowledge assets
- Help gather, structure, and input content that supports team learning and operational efficiency
Learning & Development Opportunities
- Hands-on experience with enterprise process management and governance models.
- Exposure to process mapping, documentation, and optimization methodologies.
- Opportunities to shadow professionals in related roles such as Business Analysts, Data Analysts, and Process Management leads.
Education/Skill Requirements
- Preferably Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
- Preferably students between their junior and senior years
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization
- Detail oriented, highly organized and adaptable
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative in a remote environment
- Analytical mindset with interest in understanding and improving how work gets done
- Open to work with diverse, global teams and different work styles
- Proficient with process mapping tools such as MS Visio
- Coursework experience related to process improvement, operations or analytics
WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as the Intern level is $38,700.00 to$ 54,200.00. However, the base salary range bolded above is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
