Our Portland, OR team is hiring a Financial Planning Assistant to aid a team of 3-4 financial advisors and provide general office support. You will work with all aspects of the client experience, including financial paperwork and financial account review preparation. The role supports the advisory team by providing the highest level of service to customers, clients, and prospects as they call or visit the Wealth Enhancement Group (WEG) office. This individual also responds to administrative requests such as assisting with technology, providing project assistance, managing day-to-day office administrative tasks, and responding to ad hoc requests.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who aspires to become a financial planner or advisor someday; however, that is not a requirement. For those who wish to grow their career in that direction, the firm will cover the expense of pursuing a Series 65 license within the first 2 years of employment and/or CFP designation within the first 5 years of employment. This is an on-site position (M-F, 8am-5pm). Please note that in the coming months, this office will relocate from the East Beaverton area to the Tigard area.
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the pay range for this position is $50,000.00 to $60,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. We encourage you to apply and provide us with your compensation expectations when you do. We’re big on open conversations, so, let’s have one.
Primary Job Functions
Financial Planning Assistance
Begin to understand our financial planning software with the objective of becoming the expert in our system (supporting 3 to 4 financial planners with client plan development)
Work with advisors on meeting preparation
Handle administrative tasks for new client setup, beneficiary changes, change of address, correspondence, forms, etc.
Support generating reports for meetings and presentations
Establish, maintain, and comply with an orderly record-keeping system, ensuring maintenance of confidential account files and proper workflow
Organize clients’ financial documentation
Dialogues with clients to understand their personal history and current financial needs.
Provide summary of client’s personal info, financial position, and asset allocation
Assist in the creation of financial planning reports/analyses from Morningstar, BRT (Kettley), etc.
Support the Financial Advisor with Financial Plan completion tasks (e.g., printing, copying, binding, mailing)
Record notes regarding client communications, inquiries, and actions related to planning in Salesforce
Prepare reviews and maintain accurate information on all accounts, beneficiary information, RMD tracking, etc.
May work with client’s tax or legal counsel on client concerns
General Office Support
Call clients to confirm and schedule meetings
Support clients as they complete paperwork and provide necessary signatures
Prepare necessary paperwork to address client service requests
Enthusiastically and promptly greet clients and guests, offer beverages as they await their appointment, and assist with jackets
Typing, generating, and proofreading correspondence, emails, letters, forms, policies and general office documents
Maintain multifunction printers; coordinate repairs when necessary
Manage incoming and outgoing USPS, FedEx, and UPS deliveries
Answer telephone, screen and route phone calls, and take messages as appropriate
Set up conference calls and video conferences
Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
File and scan as requested
Maintain a clean and organized reception area, conference rooms, and kitchen
Under the direction of your manager, assist with various office projects as requested
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business; finance, economics, or related field preferred
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Desire to grow your career in some capacity within a wealth management office
Detail oriented to complete paperwork accurately
Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with Salesforce and Support Org functionality preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Professional appearance; service oriented, positive attitude

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified at the individual contributor level is $42,500.00 to $63,750.00. However, the base salary range bolded above ($50,000.00 to $60,000.00) is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
