Our Corporate office is seeking a Trust Intern to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD. This is a summer internship, expected to last approximately May to August. This summer internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in trust administration within the financial services industry. As a Trust Intern, you will work closely with our Director of Trust Administration, Trust Officers, and Trust Associates, supporting day-to-day operations, process improvement initiatives, and data integrity projects. Throughout the internship, you will gain exposure to trust-related legal, financial, compliance, and tax concepts, learn to navigate multiple software platforms including Salesforce, SEI Wealth Platform, WealthHub, and develop analytical skills through client file reorganization and legal research. You'll also participate in team meetings and shadow various team members. This is an onsite work opportunity. We're specifically seeking candidates who reside in the Sioux Falls, SD area

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the hourly rate for this position is $21 per hour.

Primary Job Functions

Office Support

  • Assist in back-office tasks such as mail, filing and data entry.
  • Intern will receive real-world experience in the trust industry.

Team Support

  • Attend and participate in Trust company meetings.
  • Participate in process improvement discussions with team.
  • Support team with legal research and report back on findings.
  • Intern will have the opportunity to shadow various members of the team, including Trust Officers and Trust Associates.
  • Intern will receive exposure to trust-related legal, financial, compliance, and tax concepts.

Data Integrity Projects

  • Assist with client file reorganization and data integrity efforts related to the integration of recently acquired trust accounts.
  • Intern will gain practical experience with software platforms (Salesforce, SEI Wealth Platform, WealthHub, Laserfiche).

Education/Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college or university degree program to be eligible for an internship. Candidates who have already graduated or will graduate before the start of the summer intern program are not eligible.
  • Preferably pursuing bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • Preferably students between their junior and senior years.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and adaptable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. To comply with state pay transparency laws, we must disclose the entire salary grade. The entire salary grade for those who are classified as the Intern level is $38,700.00 to$ 54,200.00. However, the base salary range bolded above is what we expect to pay as a starting range for this position.
