Developmental Path to Relationship Manager

Role Overview


The Client Relationship & Planning Associate is a hybrid service, planning, and relationship‑development role. This role is intentionally designed as a developmental career path toward a Relationship Manager position.

Role Purpose


This role exists to protect and grow the Advisor Team P&L by delivering exceptional client experience, enabling advisor capacity, and supporting financial planning and review processes. Success is measured by revenue growth, client retention, and client advocacy.

Key Responsibilities


Client Relationship Support

  • Serve as a primary service contact for assigned clients

  • Manage client requests, issue resolution, and proactive communication

  • Support sensitive client events in partnership with advisors


Financial Planning & Review Support

  • Organize and maintain client financial documentation and data

  • Assist in preparation of financial plans, analyses, and client reviews

  • Coordinate with planning, investment, and insurance teams


Client Onboarding & Account Service

  • Coordinate new client onboarding and account setup

  • Process transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and RMDs

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and documentation


Growth & Capacity Enablement

  • Create advisor capacity through preparation and follow‑through

  • Support review completion, referral readiness, and growth initiatives

  • Participate in workflow and process improvement

Performance Expectations

  • Compensation growth and advancement are tied to Advisor Team P&L performance

  • Success is measured by revenue growth, client retention, and Net Promoter Score (NPS)

  • This is not a tenure‑based role; progression is earned through results and ownership

Developmental Path to Relationship Manager

  • Through coaching, credentialing, and demonstrated performance, the associate will progressively take on greater client ownership

  • Promotion to Relationship Manager is based on readiness to manage relationships and revenue impact

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or related field

  • Strong client service and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and urgency

  • Interest in financial planning and relationship management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
