Description

This individual will be a part of a cross functional global team to design, develop, implement and support customization / configurations of informatics platforms / products for pharmaceutical and biotech customers. The informatics platform / products include but not limited to Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Chromatography Data System (CDS), Scientific Data Management System (SDMS) used within research, clinical and manufacturing domain. The consultant will collaborate with the customer IT stakeholders, business SMEs (scientists & lab analysts), and software vendors to discuss / document business requirements and implementation approach. The consultant will have to partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute the implementation plan while ensuring proper documentation for GxP compliance is developed and delivered at the appropriate time.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for requirement gathering, elaboration, elicitation and documentation.
• Draft / review technical documents for implementation of the identified solution / customization.
• Perform / review configuration / technical activities for solution implementation.
• Evaluate technical caveats / dependencies for implementation of solutions / customization.
• Act as the liaison between customer and vendor organization to facilitate proof of concept, gap analysis and risk mitigation.
• Manage, motivate and mentor cross-functional and enterprise project teams across the globe
• Evaluate Industry trends to identify areas for optimization

• Possess an understanding of the leading technology solutions in the R&D Informatics space such as LIMS, ELN
• Demonstrate an understanding of SDLC (Agile is preferred), ITIL concepts, Database Design and Data Modeling concepts
• Are able to prioritize requirements, guide development team and remove blockers
• Experience with one of the following is a plus: Structural Chemistry, Ontology and Semantic Web, Machine Learning.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors / Master’s degree is either Life Science or Informatics / Technology
• Prior experience as a Business Process or Implementation Consultant in a Research and Development Organization, preferably in Pharmaceutical /Life Sciences industry is a plus
• Experience with any 2 of the following informatics platforms: E-Workbook, Dotmatics, Benchling, Core ELN, Sapio LIMS, LabWare LIMS, LabVantage LIMS, Watson LIMS, Sample Manager LIMS, Star LIMS, BIOVIA, Nugenesis, Empower, Chromeleon, Pipeline Pilot, Knime, Activity Base, Perkin Signals, ChemAxon, CDD, Data Manager, Tick@Lab.
• Strong Written and Oral communication skills
• Understanding of SDLC methodology
• Technical skills
• Knowledge on infrastructure / architecture of informatics platform / product
• SQL basics on relational database concepts and schema design principles
• Integrate laboratory instruments with scientific software packages.
• Understand latest technology and industry standard to integrate informatics platforms
• Troubleshoot technical issues and work with cross functional teams.
• Business / System Analysis Skills
