Data Steward(s):

We are seeking an experienced Customer facing Data Steward to join our Data Governance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of our clients' data assets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both data curation and data modelling, with a strong understanding of data governance principles and practices. As an Expert Data Steward, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data stewardship frameworks, manage data assets, and support data governance initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
• Implement and enforce data governance policies.
• Facilitate data access and usability for stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee data lifecycle management.

Domain Knowledge:

• Laboratory experience in setting up and analyzing R&D bioassays, analytical assays, and DMPK assays.
• Understanding of pharmacological ligand behaviors, large or small molecule knowledge, and pathology knowledge.
• Search information in publicly available databases, commercial supplier websites, and scientific databases.

Technical Skills:

Data Management and Governance:

• Master Data Management (MDM): Understanding of MDM principles and tools (e.g., Informatica MDM, IBM InfoSphere).
• Metadata Management: Expertise in metadata repositories and management tools.
• Data Quality Management: Knowledge of data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment techniques.

Database and Big Data Technologies:

• Relational Databases: Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
• NoSQL Databases: Knowledge of MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase.
• Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, and data lake architectures.

Data Integration and ETL Tools:

• Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica PowerCenter, Apache NiFi.
• Understanding of data integration processes and pipelines.

Data Security and Compliance:

• Data Encryption and Masking: Techniques and tools for securing sensitive data.
• Access Control and Auditing: Implementation of role-based access control (RBAC) and audit trails.

Data Analytics and Visualization:

• Proficiency in tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning concepts.

Programming and Scripting:

• Proficiency in languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).

Cloud Platforms and Services:

• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with cloud data services (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse).

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Life Sciences, or related fields.

Certifications:

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP): By DAMA International.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP): For data security expertise.
• Certified Data Steward (CDS): By eLearningCurve.
• AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty: For cloud data management.
• Google Professional Data Engineer: For data engineering skills on Google Cloud Platform.
