The responsibilities of this opportunity include:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for the Intent platform using Java and Node.js frameworks like NestJS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement new features and functionalities for the platform.
- Refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop and implement RESTful APIs adhering to best practices and design patterns.
- Work with cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Solving interesting and challenging problems alongside a great team of engineers.
- Developing new skills as you push your knowledge, and our technology, to new levels.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer with a focus on Java and Node.js.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or MongoDB - writing efficient queries, designing schemas, and ensuring data security.
- Familiarity with designing, building, and maintaining RESTful web APIs.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and unit testing.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools, particularly Datadog.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
- Passion for developing software and continuous improvement.
- Strong desire to seek pragmatic, innovative solutions to complex business and technical problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams including customer support, product, and engineering.
Nice to Have:
- Demonstrable contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience with MongoDB
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems for real-time data processing (a plus)
- Experience with cloud technologies, specifically AWS and GCP, including deploying, monitoring, and scaling applications.
- Virtualization and orchestration of applications (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS).
- Experience building microservices architectures.
The US base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $155,000.00 + bonus + equity + benefits.
